This report provides insights into the profiles, experiences, routes travelled and intentions of migrants transiting through the Western Balkans. IOM surveyed 687 migrants from 1 to 30 April 2026 in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, and Kosovo.1 The report is structured into three main sections: The countries of origin of the migrants, the routes taken and the countries they transited through, and their intended destination countries.
