Sudan Source: UN High Commissioner for Refugees Please refer to the attached file. Returns and displacement continue across Sudan. Although over 4.5 million people have returned to areas of origin, there are still an estimated 8.9 million people internally displaced. Close to 870,000 refugees and asylum-seekers primarily from South Sudan, Ethiopia and Eritrea reside in Sudan, with few solution options available to them. This complex context is increasing pressure public services delivery. UNHCR and partners deliver life-saving protection and assistance through community- based structures using an areabased approach creating an enabling environment for selfreliance.
